Indigenous Oral Performance: The Aesthetics, Documentation, and Translation of Ghanaian Dirges

As translators, we continue to grapple with translating indigenous orature - be it documenting them or translating their textual, oral, and/or performance aspects. In our guest lecture organised within the context of our interdisciplinary seminar, Demarginalising Oraturewe shall interact with Dr. Confidence Gbolo Sanka on the aesthetics, documentation, and translation of Ghanaian dirges.

Dr. Sanka is a senior lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he teaches among other things African oral literature, Communication Skills, and Anglophone literatures of various periods.
